Default The kit is finally on!

Finally got the thing painted and put on. The front bumper was a PITA but its all good now. Was to eager to take pics so there is still tape on the side skirts but no worries its just a placeholder to keep the adhesive dry overnight...

What do you mean fitment? I know the front looks awkward cause it doesnt have the same curve that it needs but everythings on the dot perfect where it needs to be? And what would you suggest the grill color should be? Just curious

Thanks guys. Not sure bout wheels unless I find some freakishly awesome deal. Id rather spend money on other things for the Z

Please specify the fitment problems. I think the car looks beautiful. I agree it needs wheels.

There's a gap in between the hood and bumper.
But looks alright.

Well not sure if it was just this one or all of them but on the front bumper it wasnt going to fit without "help". It sat in too deep compared to the stock bumper and was not able to fit with the metal brace that is normally behind the stock bumper...

2 choices. Either trim that piece to fit
Or
(IMO easier, but think about insurance and warranties)
Remove the metal brace and attach front bumper

Yep not sure how to get around that one either other than making some type of thin metal brace that will nudge the bumper up some.
Also in the middle you can see that one side is higher than the other...

Like I said not sure if it was just this one or not but it wasnt enough issues for me to wait several weeks to send it back to them and wait for a new one so paint and install for me

Ah, yes, I see it. So many aftermarket kits have small fitment problems. I had similar problems w/ my Stillen kit, despite their claims to moulding/fitment perfection. "Perfection", I think, is impossible w/ an aftermarket kit, even w/ an experienced body shop, unless you are willing to spend more on fitment than the price of the kit. I still think the car looks beautiful.

Not feeling the kit. Plus there are gaps all over the place around the front bumper. The rear exhaust tip is a bit off, especially the right tip. And why do you have a tape holding the side skirts?

To each his own eh? Id rather hear it than wonder bout it

Yeah well the front bumper I know isnt the best but its good enough for me, im not worried about being a perfectionist about it and nobody else in person seems to see it.
The exhaust i cant do to much with since its all bolted together. I dont exactly have the tools needed to bend the metal properly.
The tape? Its just there to make sure the kit sits flush on the Z while the adhesive dries on it. Ive already removed it since that picture...

There's also the area underneath the headlamps....don't think it's suppos to be tucked in like that.

car still looks pretty good...needs wheels though :P

have you considered getting the grill painted/powdered to black?

I have thought about it cause the whole theme for the car is going to be black/blue with realistic lightning paint but thats a long long time away.....

Default It looks good.

Like any Z, it is far from perfect. Continue to pursue it...whatever that means for you.
