i searched on google, and couldnt find it, so i figured id ask you guys. the texture on our oem manifold is rough. ive seen polished ones around, and im curious if it could be done by hand, or does it need a mahine to do it. its kind of a noob uestion i know, but i have alot of time now that the z is stored for winter, so any tips/tricks would be great. thanks guys.
It can be polished by hand with lots of time and lots of sandpaper. Start with the lowest grit you can, sand out the casting finish, then move up progressively through the grits until you get to 2000 grit wet. Follow up with a metal polish and a polish wheel on a drill, or by hand.

Without the proper machines/tools and of course knowledge useing them I would have a professional do it.
I got mine done from a local guy named Sean, he also does shipping if you're interested.

ok, most people spend nearly 10 to 12 hours on one plenum with a machine that rotates, what.. thousands of times per minute? and you want to try this by hand? honestly, its worth the $200 to have it done imho.
