Default Need help with aftermarket steering wheel install

hey guys i need some help. How do you guys take of the srs cable reel to allow the installation of a nrg short hub. I'm pretty much stuck right now with no idea. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

SRS cable reel? I have no idea what that is. Pictures or a better description would help.

It was a while ago, but I dont think installing my momo hub took more then 10 minutes.

I guess i messed up by buying a NRG short hub that they said would work for a 350z even though its for a 240sx. They said you got to take out the SRS reel. Here is a picture. Its the part right on the center surrounding the spindle. Did you have to take any of that off to install your MOMO hub?

Pretty sure I didn't mess with that part at all. I'll take a look at my setup again to be sure.

you get the right hub....the NRG one aint it

I would not mess with the airbag clockspring at all - none of the hubs made for the Z require you to touch it

Yay!!! I fixed it. All I had to do was buy a proper hub. LOL. Thanks Adam for your help!!!! I would have gone crazy trying to mess with that thing.

just to chime in, even though you already have the issue resolved. But yeah the correct hub will have a slot that will allow for it to fit over the "Reel" and the harness plug that is attached to it.

Here's a pix of what it will probably look like...although mine is not a short hub.

thanks bro you are right your hub would make way more sense than that nrg that looked all wrong.
