it comes on while determining the weight of the occupant..as part of the second generation airbags...if the occupant doesnt weigh more than the required amount the light stays on and the airbag will not deploy..its part of the run through when turning the car on with a passenger ...its so you dont break small childrens necks in a crash with the airbag

Ok I've got a buddy of mine that barely fits in the passenger seat and the light stays on. My wife weighs 120 soaked and the light stays on. But if nobody is in the seat itll go off after a few minutes. Dealership tells me that's normal. normal or not its annoying as S*&T! Now is it normal?

This is in an 07.

It's all normal. 350Zs that were manufactured in Summer 2006+ (a 2006.5 Z) all have a feature that disengages the airbag if a passenger weighing less than 115lbs is present. This includes the 2007. Nothing to worry about.

My brother weighs about 170 pounds and the light stayed on a few times. This mechanism is bizarre lol
