Default Air filter.. need help.!

hey guys,

actually, after taking my car to the dealer for service of 10k, and after like 3 weeks i noticed that when i passed over some drinage, all the crappy smell is inside the car when the A/C is on!! i thought my vents were open, but they were closed..

how can i go on about checking this? is it something to do with the air filter?

The Z doesn't have a interior "microfilter" that is common in a lot of other cars. Maybe you have something stuck to the bottom of the car that you're smelling.

Even though the air is on recirculate, there is still fresh air that gets into the cabin. Being able to smell the outside is normal, even when the AC is pulling the air from the cabin.

thnx, but it's not that at all..

we can have the vent open and closed, even if not the A/C is on. so i pass by a garbage place while the A/C is turned on, i suddenly get all the smell inside, even tho the vents are closed "recycling". i have tried the same with the A?C turned off, but i get the same issue, i get the smell inside the car even with the vents on "recycling". and that only happens when i pass next to a garbage place, the smell isn't always there.

we have sewage problem in my country and especially in my area. and the smell is so bad sometimes ppl throw up! soo, i don't wanna reach that stage cuz i can't stand this felthy smell..

Default Bad Smell

you may have an excessive amount of condensation from the a/c that has not drained completely, try driving with the a/c off and the recirc OFF,and then get some type of aeriosal disinfectant and spray it thru the out side air vents located by the wiper arms,,spray the disinfectant in the ducts with the a/c on high and the recirc off.spray till you can smell the spray coming thru the vents,,not a bad idea to do about every 3 months any way,,gets rid of the dirty sock smell.

I see - there is nothing you are going to do about that unfortunately. Even on recirculate the car still ingests outside air

I thought that too, but since he lives in the desert basically, I don't think evaporation is much of a problem lololol

i never faced this problem in any of my previous cars!

probably the vents don't close properly. and i don't know how to check that.
