Default Getting Overly Creative!

Okay, so I'm in the process of installing my audio equipment. We're doing a really nice, clean setup combining Rockford Fosgate amplifiers and JL Audio interior speakers and 8W3 subwoofers. I'm going to use a bass control ****, but I don't want to just throw it anywhere. I'm aiming for a completely OEM look. So, I wanted to use a Rockford control ****, mount it behind a dash panel and then remove the existing **** itself and replace it with a **** that looks as though it belongs in the car. The first thing that came to mind was to find an OEM **** of some sort from perhaps a different model from Nissan, that would look like original equipment. Anyone know of any cars that would have something to match the interior? I know I'm too damned picky, but when I do a project, it's gotta be perfect.

I would use it, but I don't like how it says "L - R" for the left and right mirrors. It will look like a balance ****. I've decided I'm going to use valve stem caps.

What do you guys think? Tacky?

Don't stress yourself out. I put my bass **** in my ash tray. I'll take a pic today. It's stealth, convienent, and you don't have to worry about anything matching. Plus you have easy access to it if it needs adjustment.

It's not really about stressing myself out. It's about doing something in a 'stupid perfect' way. I work in a car audio shop, and these days it's all about OEM integration - using the factory head unit and making the car sound great. Most bass control ***** look obstructive. I'm doing this so that we can show our customers just how factory we can make our systems look. I was thinking about hiding it, just like you said, but I play with the bass **** all the time, so I want it in plain sight.

stem cap would be cool.
but metal against plastic dash?
might stand out? idk.

the L - R **** might be cool if you tell your passengers:

L is for low
R is for Riding dirty.. or rodney king, and show them a picture with his big hair screaming and say its because he rode with the bass up. idk. make up a cool story.

+1 on the ashtray location. I leave the lid up when I need to fiddle with it alot. I have an RF sub amp and with the silver front of the housing, kinda looks stock...
