Default BIG problem with front headlight

Hey everyone,

A few weeks ago it rained hard and some water made its way into my front headlight. It looks absolutely horrible now with little water drops inside my light. So, anyways, I took it to my local mechanic and he said that a gasket was missing and the light wasn't sealed properly. I called West Covina Nissan and he said the only way to repair it would be to purchase a whole new Xenon headlight (640 bucks!). No way am I paying that.

Are there any plastics or wraps I can use to seal the back of my headlight so that water doesn't make its way into my light?

Thanks,

Kam

gasket? Seems like you got condensation. If he was talking about the liquid sealant between the headlight lense and teh assembly itself, what you can do is heat up the light, pry apart the headlights, clean off condensation (dirty water gets the lenses dirty and it won't look clear), take off old sealant, reseal with proper seal that you can get at your local nissan, and you are good to go.

Just take the headlight out and take a look at it, see if you can find where the leak is at.

If you're still under the warranty and have not modified your headlights, you may be able to get one replaced under warranty.
