OEM bulbs will be the brightest, any aftermarket bulb will be dimmer than stock. You pretty much PWNED yourself on that one

Ouch! I'd say replacing headlights sometime in the future should be your bigger concern than bulbs. Over time, plexiglass shell of the headlights can get hundreds of micro-scratches from constant contraction and flexion of the film.

Besides, deliberately reducing light output by this much isn't going to be counteracted no matter which bulbs you put in there.

you should try and take off that tint and just paint inside your headlights for a darker look. Not only is your headlights dim from looking at your car, it's dim from looking out too which is not too safe.

yea, take them off, not only do they block your headlights considerably but if you leave them on for too long there will be stress cracks all through out your headlight if not already. I tinted them for a week and then threw them away because they made the headlights suck. Paint the insides, they look much better and function prefect.

I'm not a fan of that look, but if you're going to stick with it, tint or smoke those clear reflectors too.

thats likely because the ignorant owner used d2s bulbs in their headlights as opposed to the d2r bulbs with the glare shield to prevent blinding other drivers on the road. This added light is not projected into any useful driving pattern but rather is scattered everywhere causing the blinding effect you are likely seeing
