You gotta ask yourself the age and intelligence of someone who takes spray paint to a thirty plus thousand dollar sports car!

Hence the Civic comment!

Does that permanently work, or do those interiors look like tumors a few weeks later ?

wondering
Doing some interiors already, they do stick.....as long as you do it right. You will have to use a very light plastic degreasers. Regular strong degreasers will eat up plastic like nothing. Then you have to put on a Adhesion promotor. It's very important if you want it to be durable. If not, any type of light scratching from your finger nails can occur very easily

I'm partial to the brand SEM for interior paint. It's good stuff.

SuperBlack350z,

Thanks for the tips. Do you use paint specifically for plastic only, or once you put the adhesion promoter on, can you use regular enamels?

I can't believe you didn't remove the panels to paint, instead of just taping stuff off and spraying in the car. lol...

I've used the sem products. But I use laquer thinner to clean the parts, rinse, adhesion promoter then sem vinyl dye but I would never do it to a new z. I'm sure it's been said but you just killed the resale on that car.

First I cannot believe someone did this, and second of all I cannot believe how easy on this dude everyone is!

That is so ghetto, It not even funny. You have gone way beyond "rice" Into "beans" territory.

Were you maybe deliberately inhaling the paint before you decided to spray your interior with it?

Its one thing to spray interior pieces but to spray fabric and upholstery????
LOL

Does anyone relize that people get interiors sprayed in rebuilt model cars, that there are paints out there that are MADE to dye the carpet & plastic peices?
Once paint drys & airs out, there isnt a paint smell, common damn sence would tell you that, just like painting the walls in your house, "oh man dont do that because your house will forever smell like paint", same damn thing, my car doesnt smell of paint what so ever, I think its funny, probably some of you guys that are calling me rice, spent your money on wings or big spoilers for your Z, THAT is rice.
If you wanted your car painted a different color, would you call that rice?

The point is, I'm having it fixed soon, I didnt kill my interior, & when its over, its going to look great.

so you do admit you fuked up though?

It's not that it couldnt be done, but there was better ways to go about doing what you did...For one, it probably would have been smart to ask for suggestions here BEFORE taking spray paint to your interior. oh well, it's your car.

Wow. Some of this criticism is going beyond just "all in fun" ribbing and crosses the line into just plain being a dick.

The guy made a mistake, no need to be an ******* about it. Ease up guys.

you know those car crash videos they show teens in high school as a deterrent to driving like an idiot(or drunk)?

that's the same point of this thread...the OP is a lost cause, but if we can make someone else(you for instance) think twice before they do something retarded to their Z then it's a success.
