I paid $375 shipped and it fits like the Azuka a tad short in the rear. Everything else looks good on it so its about a B+ to A-...

Jim you guys still have the roof for $500 shipped?

$480 shipped.

I would stay away from Key Composites. The molds they bought were old and had bad fitment. And from the complaints we get on these "Mastergrade" labeled parts, they didn't fix the molds before production. We've had to give KCG number to numerous dis-satisifed customers.

All the roof overlays I have seen have been peeling??? Last thing I want is my roof flying off at 170mph down the back straight. Nice mod for show.

Wait...

let me get this right...

You're buying a carbon fiber roof.... overlay...

... so you glue it onto the Metal roof...

... so rather then saving weight by replacing steel with carbon fiber, your just gluing carbon fiber onto steel... actually adding more weight.

Not only that, your not painting it, so it eventually chips, peels and turns yellow...

.... and you spent money to do this...

Oh, this isn't a joke...

,.... why not just buy a vinyl decal or pay someone to airbush it.

Serious, it would be cheaper, weight less and last long...

my roof weight is ounces. I'll be sure to take a dump before I head out on the road course to make up for the 5 to 6 ounces the cf roof overlay adds.

Jim, what do you recommend on the stick down process? Glue, tape, nails?

Google "Betalink". It's a BMW adhesive that they use for spoilers, etc. Good stuff, very permanant.

Double sided tape or adhesive. If you don't want to sand your roof, use double sided tape. If you don't mind sanding, you adhesive. Either way should be fine.

Did you get your parts?

After all this crap with different glues and tape I wish I would have just installed it using double sided tape.. wasnt sure it would be strong enough...

The corners are still up a tad and the hardened glue under the roof cover has made it super hard for them to bend anymore.

I might just rip it off this weekend and sand the roof and use double sided tape...

Good idea? Or should I leave the corners a fraction of an inch up?

There has to be a way to get the cap down on the corners, did you try adding alot of weight after adding glue like Tay had mentioned?

I dont have a garage so leaving blocks on top of my car in my apartment complex over-night is scary... punk a** college kids (not like myself) who show appreciation to nice cars by doing mean sh*t to them.

Im going to do just try it with some blocks tonite and see what happens. Wish me luck.

Where did you say you got your roof top from, Key Composite or Mastergrade?

Key Composite is hand laid

Mastergrade is vacuumed

Big difference.

I got mine from Key Composite; they told me that they use the Mastergrade mold...

Looks exactly like my friend's Mastergrade from Mr. Mastergrade himself, except mine has a 2mm gap in the rear...

That explains alot. The hand laid stuff is stiff, so the coners won't stay down that easily.
Mastergrade uses a 3m red adhessive double sided tape, it cost about $15.00. You can find it at a Home Depot, if you have Home Depot in Orlando.

Yeah I wasnt sure what to use at first... Heard some horror stories about laid improperly roofs flying off... So I decided to sand and use adhesive.

Im going to take off some of the adhesive from the corners... and use the garden bricks tonite hopefully that will be enough... If it doesnt storm over here like its supposed to.

BTW the roof when I took it out of the box flexed kinda like super stiff cardboard you know.. dunno if that means its hand laid or vaccuumed

If kcg used mastergrade mold it wouldn't has a gap. Kcg is a bunch of frauds.
