Default Installing Carbon Roof

What did everyone use for glue and how did you hold the corners down while it was drying?

So far its on there and I have been driving with it but the front 2 corners are not flat and obviously not show worthy. Ive been using 3m emblem adhesive and electrical tape to hold it down...

I think Im going to try just duct tape should be a bit stronger to hold the corners down while its drying...

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

yea the roof is history anyways; had to scuff it up for the glue... if I get rid of the car Im going to go with Blue's black vinyl roof overlay before I sell it...

I might try silicon or like an epoxy...

I used the Automotive 3m tape, and added a lot more tape then what was provided.

Then I lined it up with the front and rear edges and then used about 10 garden blocks to press down and apply pressure for about 4 hours.

Mine looks great and is holding fine.

Cool thanks for the help!

Since the roof is already pretty securely on there It might be tough to get any tape under the corners you know.. So Im stuck with glue... but the garden blocks should be heavy enough to keep that bastard down lol.

Did you wrap the garden blocks in like a towel or anything or just laid it on top? ( I would be nervous of scratching or if it fell onto my carbon hood I would be sad )

i was told by the man i bought my b-pilars cf overlays that 3M makes a gel adhesive...he said it could be bought at places online...he said its called 3m gel adhesive...if u heat up the corners of the cf a little u should be able to get a little more play in it to give u more room to get the glue underneath it then once it cools it will be fine and will stay down ok. use a hairdryer or heat gun.

Im pretty sure my girl has one of those "why would you need something so big and loud to dry your hair with" hair dryers.

Id like to get this done with tonite since I have to travel on the highway back and forth to work; very nervous that air might get underneath the roof and send it flying... so if I have to order something it wont get to me in time.

I saw JB Weld makes an epoxy made for metals to fiberglass mix with the hair dryer and some garden blocks and duct tape lol should be what i need.

I covered the whole roof with towels and then laid the block down. Didn't scratch a thing.

This is a roof replacement? How does it feel performance-wise?

Super mad JDM-Tyte... like.. mad dropped my quarter mile times by 3 seconds.

Really.. we know its an aesthetic change, much like breast implants. You don't need them to feed a baby, but the presentation is nice.

A company who for some reason isnt on the forums bought some of Mr. Mastergrade molds...

Called Key Composite Group... I think I would gone through Jim for A+ stuff for the extra money next time. Their number is: 443-484-9432

I paid $375 shipped and it fits like the Azuka a tad short in the rear. Everything else looks good on it so its about a B+ to A-...

Jim you guys still have the roof for $500 shipped?

You werent serious right?

But on a side note I do feel like the air went over my roof much smoother from the gel coat compared to the clear coated paint...
