Exclamation Seibon Hood Problem

I purchased the Seibon TS Style Carbon Fiber Hood for my 2003 350z and I just received it and its not fitting. Keeps hitting the strut bar. Im having problems w the merchant now in getting it resolved, anyone else have this problem or have any ideas on what I should do?

which merchant? how old is the hood? Does it have any time stamp on it?

i want that same hood

I was told within the past week that the new mold fixed that issue by one of the vendors on here. Im close to pulling the trigger but another thread like this and i wont.

yep thats my exact hood. I love the way it looks, but when I received it and attempted to put it on, the strut bar hits the very middle of the hood. If I remove it, it would fit perfect, but I dont wanna do so for just a hood. Its from JTR sport. They are a direct dealer of Seibon. I've got a guy, chris, who is now helping me out a lil, but Ive got to take pictures and send it to them to prove what I say is true. Kinda an inconveinence considering I already placed the hood back in the box. IDK if youve ever purchased a hood b4, but holy crap do they ever package those things. Kinda really frustrating, was really looking forward to the look. And I cant install my other accessories bc u cnt have a cf spoiler w a stock hood. lol

Why dont you just take it to a body shop? I got a VIS hood for my 07 and put it on and it didn't fit like i wanted. Took it to a local shop and they even shaved the bottom to make it fit and waxed it. Took a couple of hours and $100 but who cares it now fits perfectly.

ya, would like to try that, but it seems to b hitting on the skinniest part of the hood, I believe shaving in the spots this is hitting will make it weaker and also, if I start doing modifications and the hood still doesnt fit, the hood is mine and Im stuck w it

Lightbulb Hey...

I would recommend the shop as well. Mine is fitting on my '06 like a glove and I am running the MD 5/16 spacer w/ the strut. Good luck.

Mine needed 3 washers on each side to raise the rear enough to allow the hood to close without hitting something. Mine was not hitting the strut bar however. Mine was rubbing the engine cover in several spots.

I'm running (And selling) the same hood. I've got it with the 5/16 spacer and strut bar and mine fits fine.
