get a towel and rap it around the shifter ( I guess this is not needed if you don't want the stock **** anymore) Now use some chanel locks and twist the ***** off. I have heard some people being able to twist it off by had. Good luck

I used to put a sock on my shift **** because it was aluminum and would burn me.

Now I just grip the leather part.

I finally got one too and I agree it's great. It gives a much more direct and precise shift feel as it dose not have the rubber decoupler in it the stock **** has. Coupled with Dweebs short throw shifter it's fantastic, though I'm still getting a little rattle from Dweebs piece. He was supposed to be sending out his "O" ringed control sockets to eliminate that last bit of rattle but I haven't received one yet. Once that's done the whole shifter / **** combo will be just about perfect.

I just ordered the Nismo CF shifter from courtesy parts. Here is a link to both the CF and Ti shifters.

Yo, what's wrong with the stock shifter? I like the way it looks and feels. Sure, the metal plate gets hot, but you can put a shade inside the windshield, or what I do, I have a small towel under the seat for dusting. If it's been hot and I know it's gonna burn, I shift with the towel. After a couple minutes it's cool again.

First of all, that Nismo GT **** is bad azz. Second, CMJ, please check our PM's.

When I bought my Type R, it came with a similar aluminum shift ****. The day I picked it up, I got in (hot July day) and burned my hand badly. When I pulled my hand away, the skin stayed on the **** and stretched like hot cheese off a pizza. I didn't care, because I was so excited to get my R. I'm getting the Nismo **** because it's just so nice.
