Default Front plate drilled through bumper?

Perhaps those that drive with front plates can help me out here. Is it common for the front plate to be drilled through the bumper or is it attached another way?

I'm thinking about picking up this Z, but I don't require front plates where I live and I don't want to be driving around with 2 bolt holes in my front bumper.

Thanks!

its normally drilled into the bumper, but if you don't need front plates, take it to a body shop and have them fill the holes and paint it. shouldn't cost too much. as for mounting it another way, i think they sell a plate hold that uses the screw mount in the front grille.

In Arizona there is no plate in front. The car comes with two light indentations where holes can be drilled but they aren't drilled out when you get the car. Most with front plates appear to attach them to the grill somehow without damaging the front of the car.

Damn.. thanks for confirming. GotPlugs looks like it could be a solution. Have you tried any of the other plugs (rear wiper, keyhole?).

Cheers,

I think I'll have a small heart attack if I had to drill through my front bumper... i don't know how they do it ... You can go with what Jim said or you can buy those bumper plugs (gotplugs) for like 14 bucks .. they come painted to match your factory color paint... I have the plate holder that mounts in the grille but as you have mentioned you don't need to put the front plate
