Default What's the best 3m double sided tape?

Bought a used V1 lip and need to replace the tape. I remember 3m automotive grade tape being the best but there are quite a few different types on ebay. Even found some adhesion promoter for cheap. However,a search of all forum titles and text (yes, I did search) produced 3 pages of posts but not one response in any post.

I'm thinking the stuff to use is:
3M™ Automotive Acrylic Plus Attachment Tape, 06384, Black, 1/2 in x 5 yds, 45 mil along with the adhesion promoter.

Any input from you body kit/bodyshop guys?

LMK Thx

There is only one 3M company. Anything else on ebay is a copy, IMO.

My emblem came with some tape and a couple of packets of 3M Automotive Adhesion Promoter 06396.

I wouldn't use any tape, I'd suggest to take good bodyglue!

3M moulding double sided tape (dark grey color with red peel off plastic). It's held my rear spoiler for 2 years

LOL I know there is only ONE 3M, it's in Mn north of the cities (I lived in Duluth for 1yr). What I was interested in was the 3M product number OF the tape:

06384
06385
06386
etc.

I have the 06396 promoter now but still need the tape for my number lip

PERFECT!! Thanks George, that is the stuff I remembered being the best. Just couldn't remember the name. ebay has it for about $30 for 36yds of 0.5 inch wide tape shipped. Piece of mind is everything, knowing stuff isn't gonna fly of the car at high speeds LOL

thanks again all!!!

i was going to mention the acrylic plus as well. used it for my NISMO spoiler close to 4 years now, still sticks. just applied some with my V1 lip and that sucker is going nowhere. but i agree with the VHB being the best

Just an added tip....when doing your v1 lip, add some extra tape on your center section of your bumper for additional securement.
