Default paint match

I'm getting my rear bumper fixed and repainted this week (I got lightly rear-ended at a red light).

My question: Is there a specific brand of paint that is recommended in order to match the paint perfectly? (It's Magnetic Black, btw).

I'm taking it to a reputable body shop, but not a Nissan specialist, so I thought I'd better ask the knowledgable collection of people on this forum.

Thanks

I would recommend DuPont Chromabase paint. IMHO it's better than PPG
You need to get your Magnetic Black color code off of your Z too!

No offense, but what qualifies you to make that statement?

I do body work and PPG is as good as any for factory colors. Let the bodyman use what he always uses. Each sprays differently and he's likely to spray better with something familiar.

Adjust your expectations. Do not expect a perfect match, and
you will be happier with the end result.

i got bapped by an old person a while back too and i'm going to fix\paint my rear bumper myself(still haven't gotten around to it). the stock black color does have some yellow in it + the flex agent is added on plastic\abs panels like front and rear bumper covers so don't expect exact 100% match but it will look factory. PPG is good stuff (expensive of course)
I would recommend replacing the whole bumper because body work always shows through on a black car especially bondo over plastic

ZPRESENCE....RIP....God bless his soul. IMHO was probably one of the very best auto & accessory painters in the country. He swore by DuPont & knocked PPG big time!

Flex agent does no good. It only stays active for maybe a day or two. Paint naturally has the ability to flex enough for installation.

And work only shows through if the body work isn't done properly. If it's the edges are feathered out good you'll be fine.

the brand of paint has nothing to do with it matching or not - it's all in the prep, the accuracy of the blend, and the time spent by the person doing the job
