Default NA market NISMO aero kit

There are only two things I don't like about my Z. The first is the mid-grade paint that Nissan is famous for. The second is the very soft compound vinyl and even softer paint (thanks EPA) on the front bumper cover.

The first problem, I'm ready to live with, but my bumper cover has more little nicks and pits in it after 8K miles than my '90 Celica did after 200K.

I thought my solution was going to be the NISMO front bumper cover made from FRP, painted with some nice hard laquer. And I was ready to wait for it to be available via US distributer (and Nissan dealers) later this year.

So, I'm thumbing through my local Nissan Parts Department's NISMO catalog, which says that the aero kit will be available this fall (so I expect end of year) but I notice that it says that the kit is made from the same material as OE.

So much for my solution. I guess I need to figure out if the extra expense of buying the JDM version in FRP is worth double the price.

Comments or ideas?
