removing badges (front, rear and side markers)
so for anyone that has either replaced the Nissan (front/rear badges w/ the new Z badge) or for others that have replaced the side Z markers with the custom LED ones (made by a member of this forum) I have a question.
Have you (anyone) have any problems:
a) removing the old ones?
b) keeping the new ones on?
I think I read a post or two about the new adhesive giving some trouble and the new badges sort of peeling off or something.
Could anyone give me any information about that?
thanks
I have the custom made LED sidemarkers that are waiting to be installed but I am worried that after I remove the old badges the new ones will have problems staying on.

All Bark: If you look for my Z emblem thread I went over my experience with this. I used a hair dryer to heat it up and then I sort of pried it up with a well padded screwdriver. I put the driver INSIDE the emblem so if I did scratch anything, the new Z emblem would cover it. Then I heated up the grey adheasive tape left behind and it sort of rolled off with finger pressure. Next, I cleaned it with some car wash, dried, and stuck the new one on. No problems so far.
BTW the fishing line/dental floss method wouldn't work for me so that's why I did it this way.

i installed mine today and it was a breeze!! my car was in the sun ( here in TX it was atleast 100) and heated up the front badge and loosened it some. all i did was take a screw driver, used a towel to protect my paint and lifted it up. pulled the old adhesive off with my fingers and washed it. Stuck the new one on and i was all set.

I had this done professionally at a Carstar shop...
For the front, they used a slim bent metal rod. Hooked it under the Nissan badge and pulled upward. Very easy and effective. No scratches or marks.
For the back, they put tape all the way around the logo, then used a plastic prying stick to pop it up...seemed very easy. Then cleaned a placed both logos.
The problem with the Courtesy badges is that they used a cheap adhesive backing, and my rear one actually peeled not from the car, but from the emblem itself. I returned it last week and am waiting for a promised replacement with 3M backing instead.
Looks great on though!
