***** a/c!
alright.. so i take perfect care of my car, its washed once a week, the inside is taken care of really well, never any garbage, its cleaned regularly etc. well my car smells fine... until i turn on my a/c.. and then it smells like ****.. why the f*ck is that? any idea on how i can make that go away? this is a recent problem that started right as it started getting hot here in az.. in case that helps for some reason
the reason for it smelling musty is when you run your ac it creates moisture in the vents and when it dries it makes that smell when you turn the ac back on, so right before you get to your destination turn your ac to heat to dry out the vents and it shouldnt smell anymore.
is it a moldy/mildew smell?
i read that lysol sprayed into the vents with the ac on full blast gets rid of the smell for a little while. or turning off the ac for the last 5 minutes when you are driving the car so that the ac condensation evaporates before you turn the car off.

i bought an ionizer machine for local details i do. What i do is run it in the car for a hour with no ac then run it for an hour with the AC running. Works great. You can get the machine for 200,

When the car is parked and the A/C is on, are you seeing water dripping from the front right side of the car? That should be the drain from the evaporator. If you see little or nothing draining, it could be clogged. That would leave water in the evap unit which could get a buildup of mold/mildew or stale water causing the smell in the car.
