"bumper tuck" pic request!!!
I'll show you mine if you want.
Been thinking about doing this mod, only thing is that I'm not to fond of drilling the holes into the bumper..I hate the fact that you can see the screws at certain angles..I can always just use the tabs, but don't really like the way the middle sags..My question, is it possible to use double sided tape to hold up the middle section? Any opinions?

^ Was thinking about that also, but then I thought about the factory double sided tape used for badages and nameplates, this stuff is really really strong. So thats why I figured if you used enough, it would hold the thin plastic middle piece to the aluminum bar..You know what if you used some epoxy glue. This stuff would hold, but this would be a permanet mod.
Hmp, I felt the same way. At first. So, I orginally made a set of custom tabs from ABS and glues them to the inside with ABS cement. But, they wouldn't stick to the PP bumper material. They popped off three days later. I was going to buy some PP cement and try again. But, decided to drill the bumper anyway.
I did mine down far on the bottom part of the lip and screwed it high on the verticle portion of the bumper. If I do ever remove the mod, I don't think you'll really notice the holes. Plus, the four head bolts wouldn't look all that bad anyway. I kept them very uniformed.
Well, I did what I did because both my tabs were already broken off. So, it didn't really matter. No sag-in-the-middle problem for me either way.

^ what do think about using Epoxy glue? I mean this stuff is probably the strongest thing known to man..You bring up an intersting point, though..Glue some custom made tabs in the middle then glue them to the aluminum bar, or better yet just drill those..If one day the mod is to be reversed, all you gotta do is unscrew the tabs and just cut off the custom tabs with a dremel. Maybe some of that mighty putty stuff can be subsituted for the epoxy. Like I mentioned earlier just don't want to drill the middle section cause I hate the way you can see the screws in some angles.
Don't be chicken! Just do it. Double-sided tape or epoxy won't work. You will need to screw it. The screws aren't visible. Besides, even if you used the tabs or found a way to do it other than screwing, you won't want to take it down later... The bumper will warp and not look the same later. Just do it and leave it. Best free mod you could do!
Epoxy will not stick to PP. The ABS contact cement I used was great holding the tabs side to side. But, the minute you put any other "directional" pressure on them, they popped. PP cement will work fine. Glue the tabs to the inside of the bumper cover. Pull the bumper cover up where you want it and drill the new tabs into the aluminum support.
That's what I was trying to do. But, like the others said, I messed with it for a day or two and then just drilled the bumper. If you sell the car, no one would know the difference. If they did noticed, then they would prolly have done the mod too.
Either way, it's all
