Sticky Door Lock Problem
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post as I don't own a Z (Mods?)...
Pretext: I have a '03 Gc 6MT
I've been experiencing this for a few weeks now and don't really know how to fix it. My driver side door lock sticks in both the locked and unlocked positions when trying to use either the fob or the switch for power locks. This happens about 85% of the time I'm locking or unlocking the doors. You can see it trying to move, but it won't make it all the way, so I end up having to use my key to get in or manually moving the switch to get out. It seems to be a mechanical problem, not electrical (motor, accuator, etc.), so my specific question is:
1. Has anyone experienced this on any car before and gotten to the bottom of it?
2. Is there a way or product to clean the area or find out exactly what is causing this?
Post text: There has been no spillage or unordinary dirt/debris in the area that I know of. It may have gotten slightly wet from water dripping into the window but never bad enough for me to take notice or blame this issue on that.
There you guys... Ponder, guess, explain, flame, sympathize... do what you do.
Thanks,
neel
