Anyway you can post a step by step DIY?
There's a DIY in the diy forum that I followed and it was pretty good.

The only thing about this mod is that you need to have PATIENCE. Use multiple coats and allow the paint to cure thoroughly. It can be done in a weekend.

The hardest thing is just getting the headlights apart, and that isn't necessarily hard, just tedious.

Ok thanks. I am just so nervous that I would mess them up.

Oh well nice car none the less..
Tasteful and well-done visual modifications are not "rice". If a Civic had this done and it looked as nice and clean as Ghost's basically stock Z, it would not be rice at all.

There is no double standard here, you're just wrong.

Yeah, that's what holds everyone back. If you take your time with the disassembly you'll be fine. I rushed it the first time and had a leak so I had to redo mine, but whatever... practice makes perfect, right? Ha.

Looks good. I miss the PPW Z. That was bad-a$$. If I ever get this done, I'll definitely use a heat-gun instead of the oven though.

If I did the oven thing I would have to do it at someone else's house because if my GF saw me putting my headlights in the oven she would think I was certifiably insane. LOL

While you can do it in a day, I recommend letting the headlights fully cure overnight before putting them back together. That's just my opinion.

None of the individual steps are time-consuming, it's really up to you how much time you want to invest into proper priming/sanding/painting.

Very generalized estimate if you take your time- half a day on the first day for headlight removal, disassembly, prep and paint.... half a day for reassembly, resealing and reinstallation.

I don't recommend using a heat gun. It can be done, but it's very difficult to evenly distribute the heat and tell how hot an individual area is. If you overdo it, you could damage the headlight.

The baking process sounds a lot worse than it is. 250 isn't that high of a temperature. It's just enough to get that silicone nice and gooey for about 30 seconds after you take it out of the oven.

Bake, pry it open, bake, pry it open, bake, open it completely. Just take your time.

i was considering getting my headlights painted as well, but i declined because i felt it was unimportant. however, after seeing yours i am completely impressed. it looks beautiful on the car. however, it looks like i am going to have to upgrade to the 06 hids... :sigh:

more money, more problems.

Headlights turned out great.

Nice MS protege too. I want to get one as a daily driver if I can get a good deal on it.

I really wanna do this but doubt my skills on the painting part. I baked my tC headlights to take the amber out and replace it with a clear lens and it turned out fine so I got no problem getting the housing apart, but the paint part...
How hard was it and what'd you use? I looked for a DIY on this but couldn't find one. Wish I knew someone in SA that could do this, I'd rather just pay someone than trust myself to paint it.
