My question is are these plug and play without any modifications necessary? no extra harness that needs to be taped off, etc.?

I have been searching the forums and retailers, and some retailers say no modification, while others say minor modification needed. I know the harness for the 03-05 is different for the LED and needs modding. But I am trying to found out if this is a direct replacement for the 2008 z.

Thanks for any relevant information. And pictures of install on a 2007 up would be nice.

he's talking about the clear JDM optional equipment. I've read that 08's are supposedly direct replacement as well, but the harness modification (if needed) is literally a 5 minute job with a pair of wire cutters (to remove the tabs on the side of the harness).

 

Well, there is a slight modification you have to do to your plug in order to make it fit correctly. I know there was a thread about how to mod the plug, but i'm just lazy to search. If you plug the JDM tails to your plug, you can actually tell what needs to be filed down. Its very easy, and it can be done within 5 minutes with a filer.

 

i have the LED japanese spec taillights for my 03 i can just file down the piece that needs to be filed down right. can someone help me find this topic on here PLEASE. i only have a certian amt of time before i have to go back to iraq and put my car back in her garage.
