My Targa Top 350z
As long as people are looking to hack up a structurally sound z, I have a request:
There seems to be two types of targa tops out there: fully chopped (as discussed herein) and the old mid-nineties Porsche targas:

I'd like to see something like this, just cut out a rectangle between the B pillars, from the windshield to the rear glass.
Pro's: keeps the z roofline, and shouldnt collapse (assuming the internal framework runs in the same direction as the b pillar), and you may even be able to save the roof cutout, cut that in half, and store in the trunk.
Con's: basically just a big sunroof and not a supra-type targa, I would imagine it would be much more expensive (invasive).

I can see the insurance company denying all claims in a major accident since the structural integrity of the cage is completely altered. This probably will make it hard to sell used. (I hope not)
Otherwise, looks wicked cool. Maybe I'll take the easy route and add a hatch back to my roadster.
Props on having the cajones to make the cut. I'm looking forward to seeing how this will turn out.
