it's the mirco switch, it must not be making contact with the door....you need to find it and adjust it back to normal or cut the wires and possibly splice them together if just cutting one isn't enough.

If the only issue is the light, and its not cosmetically damaged just pop off the panels and readjust the sensor. Unfortunately with these ******* things if its off by even half a millimeter it wont register.

If that doesnt work, do what he said. Splice the wires together. Problem solved.

somewhere in your door frame is a small area you can push to make the ligh go out, usually a metal stub or post that compresses.... find it. Typically it is in the front of the frame, half way up.

It would have to be somewhere that the door would normaly hit it when closed only.

here is an example, you will only see the end of it, it may be fully covered by a black rubber bubble to prevent corrosion

i'll check for it tomorrow. there are a bunch of wires coming from the door, and a lever off of it, but i push the lever and the wires come out, so im guessing thats not it, and the lever is just a lock for the box the wires are in?

i went feeling around in there, and found nothing. i think its connected through the door jam..couldnt find a button in there. i might take it to a shop to see if they can figure it out, but i dont really want to spend money on this car now that i crashed it. had some plans to fix it up before i crashed it too

figured it out...im such a retard. i was trying to feel/look in the door jam where the door and the front fender connect, but the button was right near the lower part of the door, so i just taped it down for the night, and i'll put something on the door that hits it when i close the door.

when i hit the guard rail, it bent my door out a little so it wasnt being hit

thanks sean for helping me out
