Default shiftknob installation...

After about an hour tryin to twist the damn shiftknob and I finally gave up...It's an 06 Manual Trans. I followed the steps of the installation guide that came with the shiftknob, but I still can't get the **** off..It's like superglued on to the shifter or something. Can anybody help me to get this thing off in easier way? Or I might just take it to nissan and have them do it. Kinda afraid to damage my tranny...

Use channel locks to hold the bottom of the post, then use another set with a rag or something to protect it and twist it off. I got mine off by hand so it shouldnt be on there that thight. check page 2- https://my350z.com/forum/body-interi...ft-****-2.html

Vice grips on the shaft, pipe wrench on the ****(with a cloth to protect the ****). I ripped a few pieces of skin off my hand trying to twist it off without the tools. Nissan started putting some form of Locktite on later model Z's.

Mine is an '03, and I can assure you, the stock **** wasn't just twisted on there. There was most definitely some industrial strength thread lock on it, lol.
