Default Headlight Lens Cracking

I just peeled off my headlight overlays about 5 minutes ago because i thought they were cracking. Turns out that its the actually the headlight lens itself. Its from the bottom to near the top on both sides.

Anyone have any experience with this? If not them im headed to the dealership.

i heard something just like this.. It was posted on exterior & interior section. Let me look it up, but I think overlays can cause this some how.

Not all but to some of them.

It is the overlays. Do a search, you'll find plenty of people complaining about it.

I think I read in the last thread that the reason the film causes the cracks is because it doesnt let the lense expand/contract according to the temperature.

I know! Like omg! I've known that overlays can cause cracks from stressing the headlight plastic and not allowing it to expand and contract as it normally would.

Honestly... If your car is under warranty, bring your car there and show them. Tell them that you did not do anything out of the ordinary, and do NOT tell them you had overlays on them.

Overlays / Tint is not good for your headlights or tails! After time they will stress crack them. I've seen some that had overlays / tint for 2 months and looked worst then yours

Glad you got it worked out Chase! Ask them if they would let you keep the old headlights. I doubt it but worth a shot.
