Default Doh. got a little bit of gasoline on the headlight

now i have minor stress cracks all over the headlight..

anyone know how i can get rid of it? look like they are 1mm or so deep.. i tried a plastic polishing creme.. but couldnt get it all gone... any suggestions?
can i wet sand (2000 or 1000 grit) the plastic lenses and then do a micro polish back?

you can't get rid of stress cracks bud. Time for new headlight covers. What i did was buy the cheapies off of ebay take the lens off of them and put them on your lights.

I have the same thing. It sucks!

You can't tell from more than like 10 feet away, but up close and in person they look like complete ***. I can live with it for the time being, but eventually I will either upgrade to 06+ lights or just get cheapo ebay lights and steal the lens.

Chances are, you need to find something to neutralize the gas. Even if you washed it, it probably penetrated and will continue to worsen. Then I'd see if some polishing compound would help it at all.

Nissan warranties do not cover anything.
At least, from what I've read here, and experienced.

Why was there gas even close to the headlights?? It's not like the gas tank is right in the close vicinity.

i had to take out a couple gallons from the car since the car was going to the OC auto show, which they have a 1/4 tank maximum policy for exhibit cars... i pumped the gas out from the fuel pressure regulator in the engine bay (before it goes to the fuel rails) and i accidentally spilled a little bit as i was lifting the hose up...

This is the most amazing story about show cars, bummer about the headlights though. I am lazy and would have just gone for a cruise had I known about the fuel regs before I washed & detailed the car before the show. How did the car do at the show???
