Default getting the car repainted

looking to get the exterior all done again, also gives me the oppertunity to get the new bumper and what not. what is the ussual price for such a job? I want to get rid of the pretty bad orange peal effect, and I've had some paint problems not covered from Nissan. and what sucks is its a 2007 model. I got numbers around 3500 froma custom shop in my area that is recomended from Dupont. and another shop that works on exotics that was 7k... being way too much. any help is appreciated.

I think you've sorta answered your own question...prices will vary, substantially. The only way to know what it will cost you in your area, is to go to several shops, see their work, review their processes, and go with whomever you feel comfortable with/can afford. It's a bit like asking "I want to buy a house, what will it cost"

Prices vary a lot, like mentioned above me.

Be sure to look at all the shops in question previous work before you make your decision.

true true.... I am just curiouse to see what others have paid and were happy with. trying to get into doing my home work and searching around.
now I'm pretty much set on redoing the body as well while I'm at it. thinking long nose body. keep it clean not too different if that makes sense. either Top secret, Ings+1 or Cwest front. I like the new Top secret lower spoiler. real clean looking. and their rear bumper style 2 I beleive.

one thing i never see mentioned when this question is asked is what color ur car is. All the body shops I've been to have told me PPW being 3 stage is much more expensive to do then other 350z colors.

3-4K should cover a full paint job and not a hack job either..

depends on the paint and color. There are reds out there that would run you over 10K just for the paint. Most decent shops I've spoken to our had work on my cars will quote around 5-8K for a car this size. Wouldn't take it to a hack shop and find out what brand/model paint they are using so you can research quality and prices before negotiating their final price.

the expensive one I found 7+K took the entire car apart, and did it from scratch... the one I think I'm settling on does a lot of custom work and saw their work the have preveously done, and take all stripping off, windows etc... leave interior in I beleive, I'm just getting the outside redone completely, no need for engine bay. and its going around 4-4,500 for entire car, ussing Dupont house of hues paint, and the shop is ranked as high as you can get from Dupont, all their apinters go through Duponts training course.
