Default For those of you who removed the spare tire...

I searched a few threads about this but didn't find much. I took out my spare tire and now the rear trunk has no support. I put a gallon of milk back there and it caved in. I was just wondering what some of you have done for support.

i believe everyone either took our the spare tire in order to fit a larger sub in which case they have built a new floor out of mdf or they took it out to save weight for racing in which case you shouldnt be putting anything back there anyway. if you're just trying to save weight just take the spare out when you go to the track not all the time.

I've been wondering the same thing as Escobar. I removed my spare tire and have problems on the rare occasions that I need to put something in the hatch. I'm thinking about having a light piece of wood cut and put it under the mat.

There is this foam piece that goes on top of the screw (plastic screw that screws the tire down). Did you make sure the foam got placed back when you removed the tire? That piece keeps support for the center of the floor.

Just rotate that foam and screw that held the spare tire in place so that it sits evenly giving support to the carpet.

I remember that foam thing, I thought it has to have the tire in place in order to be the right height. I will try that. I wanted to build something lightweight for a bit more support.
