Default Question about changes to headrest between 06 vs 07

For those of you that have sat in an 06 and also an 07-08 coupe (not convertible)

When shopping for a 350z I sat in two 06's and two 07's. I noticed the 2006's headrest doesn't come forward as much as the 07's. Meaning my head would face more up towards the ceiling rather then forward towards the road when driving.
Furthermore, the 07's, when resting my head on the headrest, would also push out of the seat and onto my upper middle back. I assumed it was the two metal pipes that fit into the seat that were doing this. However, the 06's didn't do this.
Anyone else notice this?
Does anyone know if the 07's headrest will fit in an 06 seat? I ask cause I own an 06 and would like to have the 07 headrest as it seemed more comfortable to be able to rest my head on it "sooner" thus making me see the road rather then "later" thus seeing more ceiling.

FOR THE RECORD ALL 4 HAD LEATHER SEATS. ALL 4 WERE POSITIONED TO MY LIKING. ALL 4 HAD POWER SEATS. AND ON ALL 4 OF THEM I HAD THE HEADREST AT IT'S UPPER (as in towards the ceiling) MOST POSITION.

As far as I know, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, the headrest moves back and forth in the case of an accident to prevent whiplash.

The back and forth I wasn't aware of. I attempted to move mine (on a 2006) forward but it doesn't budge. It does move up and down as it should. I'm sure during a crash they do move, but I would assume mostly cause of the impact from the head.

Yea i've noticed it from a 03 and my 07, my buddies 03 i couldn't put my head on the headrest while driving, bc it put my head back and was looking up towards to ceiling, but on my 07 its like perfect for drving. And I too wonder what that thing is that pokes you in the back when you put your head on the rest. what ever it is it feels good, lolol.

Perfect, I'm glad someone else has noticed this and that I'm not going crazy. I'm going to to attempt to switch out the headrests and see if an 07 or above will fit in my 06 seat. I'll post my findings. Thanks for your reply.
