talk to the company you bought it from. or if it was 1 of the vendors here they should be able to take care of you. you bought it from them, they deserve to give you 100% satisfaction.

Isn't a common problem the fact that the hood hits the strut bar?

All it took was some washers and some adjustments and it alligns and closes to lock with no problem . Im simply trying to get rid of my seibon for an asuka hood.

Mike,

If you think $500 is "mad" expensive for a carbon fiber hood, you don't know composites or the cost of carbon.

To the OP, If you haven't already adjust your latch catch. Not the latch on the hood, but the catcher on the car. If that fails, try adding shims to the back hinges. Sometimes, the hoods will hit the strut bar, including the OEM stru bar.

If that doesn't work, bring it to a body shop who can dremel the hinge holes as needed or add hood pins.

+1 to that. Of all the players in the CF hood market, Seibon is consistently very affordable. Companies like Top Secret, Do-Luck, etc have hoods that retail for over $1500.

Your carbon fiber hood should fit perfectly. Check to make sure there aren't any rubber bumpers under the hood keeping it from shutting. A lot of manufacturers install these to make sure the hood doesn't vibrate or slam into the body when you shut it. Also another common cause is an aftermarket strut bar hitting the bottom of the carbon fiber hood. You can put playdough on the strut bar to determine if it is hitting. Also, this is kind of common sense but make sure you have moved your striker receiver all the way up. It should only be two or three bolts.

If none of this works, call the company you bought it through. They will be able to get a replacement for you for free. That's what we do anyway.

^^ no way will they replace for free. EVERY carbon hood maker explicitly says you bought it, its yours. tough luck and take it to a professional body shop.

just ask showstoppers. they'd never replace/refund a non 100% fitment hood. They'd tell you exactly what he said above.
