Default Latch diagram or picture for Sunglass holder ?

Hello,

My little latch for my sunglass holder fell off last night. ( The button you press to release the glasses holder).

Now my sunglass holder is flapping in the wind, below the dome lights (which are not working, different issue).
Anybody have a diagram or a picture of how that assembled? I could find nothing in the service manual for that.

I have the tan colored 4-pronged latch tab, at least one spring, resembling that of a pen-spring, and a little black tab, not sure if there are other parts involved.

On a second note, my dome light and visor lights are not working, I checked the fuse looks good, and read the tech guide to disconnecting the (-) terminal on the battery, waiting 5 minutes, and re-attaching the (-) terminal. In case that is the BCM, is that covered by Nissan? Sounds like a known issue that should be in that case. Anyone else run into this, what was the solution?

Thanks in Advance.

George

I'm going to assume you have an 03, but if you don't (or are still under warranty) take it to the dealer, or just buy a whole new sunglass contraption I'm sure it somehow is a plug and play type deal......unless I'm wrong

Default I figured it out - Sunglass latch, Thanks....

There are three pieces to the sunglasses latch in case anybody else ever runs into this poroblem. I have an '03, so not sure how different the other models are.

Here are the parts that fall out of the headliner where the sunglass holder is.

1. The tab (release Button) with 4 corner prongs and a center 1/2 prong.
2. A little 3 mm spring.
3. A little black plastic square rod, one end flat , one end with a 45 degree chisel.

Step to re-install:

1.Take the spring and black rod. These go back into the the black plastic adapter that is attaced to the headliner with the four holes.

2. The spring goes in the horizontal hole first. The hole is in the middle of the black plastic adapter that is on the headliner facing the windshield.

3. The black plastic rod follows. Put the flat end in against the spring.
Leave the chisled end out so that the chisel tip catched the sunglass holder.

4. Now, line up the 4 and 1/2 prongs on the button to the adapter with the rod and spring alread inside and push to snap them all together.

P.S. I lost the little spring somehow and you might too. It is pretty small. I McGuyvered a spring from a cheap pen and it works great.

Pass this along to anyone that might have problems with that button falling out.

Regards,
George
