Default MasterGrade Carbon Fiber Hatch Painted?

Has anyone had this hatch paint matched to their car? I'm in love with the hatch and the built in lip but really am looking to keep the solid black of my car going. Thanks

idk why anyone buys CF to paint it unless they are worried about the curb weight of there car. If you paint it at least keep some CF showing.

mine was a defective, the weave ran in some areas. So it made since to me to paint it and at the lower cost it was only a little more than it would have been to paint and buy a v1 spoiler, which was my other choice.

Then it makes sense to paint but for the love of CF leave somthing in CF. Just looks better and everyone will think you got a new one and cusom painted it to perfection.

I have to disagree with your viewpoint. CF for CF sake....please. The weight savings alone justify the purchase. If the man wants to maintain the clean look of his car and not spot it up with show grade, relatively heavy (not talking dry CF here), prone to yellowing CF, then so be it. Who cares what other people think...all show FTL.

I was thinking of leaving a little CF under the spoiler. Maybe like a Z since the emblem will be gone. Everything black but the Z shows through in CF on the drivers side or something. Although I guess fiberglass makes sense here too. Any finishing/fitment issues between the two? Or the both come finished and basically ready for install (not counting paint on the fiber). I have heard some fiberglass products need a lot of prep before installing.

Thanks for all of the replies!

i completely agree with your viewpoint.

robbinsj, not everyone buys cf just to have something in cf.. a lot of cars in japan actually paint all their cf pieces so you wouldnt even know what is/isn't cf..

There really wasn't any fitment issue or what not. Since mine had a minor CF defect on the hatch when I purchased the hatch, the finish wasn't really complete. It had sorta like a semi clear coat finish to it. Since i had plans to paint the hatch, it didn't really bother me at all. All in all turned out great. While your at it, make sure you get the lighter strength hatch shocks as OEM are too strong for the hatch. Keep us updated....
