canards and splitters
Has anyone used canards on the stock z front? Are they functional under most driving or only under high speeds? I dont want a bodykit because i drive my car daily and like the stock body anyway so i was concidering these and a front splitter. My first goal is function over looks and i like the agressive look of these canards and splitter. I expect 90% of you to scream rice but it doesnt bother me. Im also interested in other options as far as companys that make parts like this.

what do you guys think.

I think that the Stillen splitter won't work if you have a Nismo V1 front bumper already. If you have the OEM bumper it will work. As far as function, on the street, hard to say really. I doubt it will be noticeable in your daily commute but I'm guessing you'd like to know for sure so go ahead and get 'em.

Ah we seem to have similar taste! I am into the raw race look/function. I haven't purchased my Z yet (maybe this week
) so I can't really give any info relevant to the Z, but I installed an APR splitter on my MX6 that I autoX'd last season. I always get good comments about it, lots of people giving me thumbs up when they are crossing the road at intersections. I almost drove over some kids after filling up at the gas station, they were kneeled down infront of my car and I had no idea they were there until I started it and they jumped up :-S.
For daily driving, you should never be pushing you car to the point where you would notice the splitter having any noticable effect. As for autoX, a splitter and or a canard is going to have very little to no effect just because the speeds arn't great enough. Also your car needs to be quite low, for example my MX6 still had stock suspension so the gap between the road and the bottom of the splitter was huge and therefore that vacuum effect below it would be quite low compared to a car that is 3-4" inches from the ground.
I'd like to get a complete undertray made for my Z with vents for the tranny and diff, mhhhhh. I'll have to investigate how difficult that will be though once I get a Z and get under it.
Coles notes: I love the look and say go for it!

i agree with that^^ and im kind of let down, i wanted it to be functional because i like the look. It just screams track car and i think it would scare away civics that always wanna f*** with me on the road. I think this is the way im going.
oh and good luck with your purchase im sure youll love the z its a blast.

Not trying to be a dick, but kind of contradicting yourself right there. I would say don't get it because honestly it doesn't look that great with it going over the side-markers, and it's probably just a waste of money. I'd save up and get parts for the car that actually is necessary and would benefit you in autox. If you're goal is function over looks, you shouldn't care if your track car has that "raw/race/track" or whatever look. Whole point in autox is trying to get around as fast as you can, not trying to look the best going around a course. Just my 2cents.
To answer your question, Canards = no, Splitter = Yes. Wasn't a fan of the Canards.

or else you just look like the rest of the z driving pimps
i also want to get the carbon cover for the piece under the grill so i think it would tie together nicely. but that Evo-R CF lip with the canards combination was not bad!
