Default rattling after B&M install

ok i recently put a B&M short throw shifter in my car. every now and then when i accelerate i hear a rattling coming from that area. i double checked to see if everything was tight and it was. has this happened to anyone else? if so were you able to fix it?

Why don't people search first before they make a useless thread?

Honestly, why would you need a short shifter when it is already a short throw from the factory? Just FYI, the throw will be shorter just by simply swapping out your shift **** to an aftermarket unit. ARC, Nismo.....etc. If you hadn't searched, B&M is just a waste of money, and commonly runs into problems.

1. Its a short shifter. Of course its going to be shorter than the already short throw from the factory( If you didn't know that)
2. I gave u my opinion and answer, not an argument.
3. If you had searched, you would've saved yourself a few hundred dollars on a short throw that ur having problem with.

I have to agree with Changvi, it's known that the B&M shifter (for this application) has all sorts of issues. You're better off saving your money on something more meaningful with less issues. The factory throw is actually quite good from the factory (IMO). Compared to most cars (and especially manual trucks) the throw is nice.

i dont really see it as a problem just an annoyance. it happens maybe once every 2 weeks. other than the occasional rattle I love it!

Many aftermarket short throw shifters create a louder rattle. Stock rattles minimally and has dampening stuff for the sound reason. I heard the 350evo is the worst.

+1 on all short shifters making noises. i had a skunk2 aluminum shorty on my 98 civic and that bish was had all sorts of rattles and vibrations. great mod on the civic...

im sure it makes the throw shorter, but there is a point where too short is too short and is crappier.... i guess it depends how fast u can shift and kick da clutch.
