Default Molding eyelids to hood

Hey guys,
Seemingly some of you have molded plastic eye lids to our aluminum hoods - which looks tight, because everytime I look at a car with eyelids, I couldn't help noticing there black gap.

Question is how to do it? It is even possible to weld / mold aluminum to plastic?

Please, fire away your inputs.

Yeah I know. I posted the other thread BY MISTAKE, in the 370Z section - sorry!

Why is the 370Z section above the 350Z one, when this is a Z33 forum?

Yeah... that confused me for a while too

I think the 350Z section needs to be at the top IMO, but that subject is a whole other thread that belongs in the suggestions section I suppose.

AFAIK nobody has molded eyelids to their hood...and if anyone has, they should be slapped silly The images are likely just playing a trick on you. Molding the eyelids is not really possible, at least to achieve the same look that you are seeing, without building a completely custom set of headlights...which no one is really going to do. To work with the OEM headlights, the eyelids would have to be glassed in to the hood, but would have to be slightly raised to clear the headlight when the hood closes. In short, it would look like a mess.

I say go for it. Mold eyelids to the hood, make sure when you close it the first time to get it on camera!

I guess if I was to mold it, then the eyelids part of the hood would be higher than the rest of the hood.

I can buy these eyelids off ebay for $35.00 apparently, does this sound right guys?

I dont think ive ever seen this done? maybe ive missed it?... It be sick to do, go for it. It would of been easier if they made the hoods like they do for the V-Dubs and audis that go over the headlights. But then again.. our headlights are placed differently and there big lol

You made it sound like there's other more expensive places to get eyelids, and hopefully for a better quality?

Some help?

I just clicked on the "arrow looking icon" that collapses the whole 370 area. No more 370 junk for me.

Glacier if your going to be molding the eyelids. I don't think you need to spend tons of money on the lid themselves.

And if you would have said I can get some eyelids for 35.00 no-one would have said anything. I have learned to keep the word "ebay" to myself.
