is this true? are the oem hood struts too strong? i tried search button but didnt come up with anything.

Stock hatch ones are too strong for cf.. Regular hood dampers are too strong for cf hoods. Get the lower psi ones with cf.

 

NRG makes some at 2/3psi for CF hoods. They are even listed on this site from some of the vendors. Hr Autosports i believe carries them. Not cheap, but they are nice pieces, easy to install and are car specific when it comes to the mounting hardware.

I figured you meant hatch because Z's don't have stock hood struts =/. Ebay sells them though! My friend actually bought a set for his CF hood...no problems for the past year on his G35.
