Default Want is needed to make a 03-05 Veilside or VS1 front lip fit on a 06-08 front bumper?

I have a 2004 Z, I bought a veilside 1 replica front lip made for a 03-05 Z. I prefer the look of a 06-08 bumper and I am thinking of upgrading to one. I test fitted the lip on mt 04 and it fits ok. I was not able to find a 06-08 replica in stock in my area or for a reasonable price so I bought the 03-05 one.

The question is what is needs to be done to make the 03-05 lip fit on the 06-08 bumper. I am told that the 06-08 bumper is a bit wider than the 03-05. Has anyone done this before?

If it is more work that its worth then I will just install it on a 03-06, but I would like to have the option.

Thanks

Kevin

I have seen somebody that tried this exact thing. It isn't very close at all. I think you would be much better off buying the correct part.
If I had to guess, I'd say you need to add about an inch to each end (into the wheel well)

Best of luck with whatever option you choose.

The curvature of the 06-08 bumper is a bit different than the 03-05, enough that it'll take some serious work to get it to fit without ugly gaps. You'll likely end up spending just as much money paying a body shop to "make it fit" as you would buying the correct part. Just sell the 03+ lip and buy an 06+ if you swap bumpers.

It'll take a considerable amount of work.

Not worth the money.

It will not just bolt right up and it will not be worth it to modify it. IIRC, not only is the middle of the bumper different, but the general shape is different. That information came from the thread where the MG front diffuser was being tested on an '06-'08 front bumper, it didn't work at all.
