Default 2008 350Z hatchback area noise

I initially thought I was getting lots of wind and road noise in the hatchback area. I have since determined that the noise is really all road/tire noise that for some reason(s) seems to be at very high levels and very noticeable in the seating area. I put down some Dynamat Xtreme product throughout the area on Saturday but still have a good bit of noise. The one area that I didn't Dynamat was the wheel wells that protrude into the hatchback area. I'm now wondering if I should be covering the wheel wells with the sound proofing stuff. Thoughts or comments from you folks that may have experienced similar problems would be appreciated.

the z wasnt designed for luxury: it was designed for performance, but yeah i would add it if you want but keep in mind dynomat is going to add alot of weight to your car but good luck

Typical of just about all hatchbacks. I just turn up the tunes and/or open the windows.

Sound Deadening alone will not block out the road noise you are hearing. Dynomat is mostly for rattles. If you want to block out road noise I would suggest putting in a noise barrier like Second Skins Luxury Liner to block out airborne noise.

Do you have the stock Bridgestone tires... they suck, they give alot of road noise.. I went to Goodyear Eagle F1GS-D3 tires, and i was amazed at the amount of road noise that disappeared, and they grip alot better too.

+1 on the tires. My road noise dropped a decent amount after my Bridgestones were used up and I switched to Goodyears.
