Default Color Matched Center Console

We'll i know i've seen this done before and done in fiberglass but couldn't find any links but thought i would post a picture and see what you guys think, my friend broke down and bought a 350z Roadster 2 weeks ago and picked it up in florida, and had the unfortunate luck to have something fall off of a semi in front of him and put a hole in his bumper within 1 hour of driving from the dealer.

Long story short the interior had some scratches on the center console and panels where the window switches are so on top of repairing the bumper i also color matched his interior.

For those that want to know this was basically a ton of sanding to get this smooth not to mention a blast to seperate the cubby door, or should i say put it back together, and the gauge area etc.

So not only does he have the orange leather, but now he has a nicer interior then mine.... although i dont think either would look good in my yellow z.

I think it looks nice depending on what color scheme is implemented (this one looks great). It gives the interior that extra touch. Overall, great job. That automatic is an eye sore though. Ditch the floor mats immediately.

looks good if it didnt have a black stock cd player in it looks kinda out of place with all the custom work. Also the auto shifter is an eye sore as well like said above.

Yeah the automatic doesn't help, and the stock radio will be removed shortly, he is deciding on a new system, will go with a screen in that location so it will be alright.

As far as sanding i used 320 grit and just kept sanding with my DA.

I would consider offering this as a service, however not sure of a price since the majority of this project is just time. If i were to throw out a number probably be $250-300 to do the center console with door etc, obviously shipping etc would be additional, and if you wanted the side pieces sprayed also i would probably include that in the cost if you wanted those done since it doesn't need to be sanded much since they aren't textured.

I must say the two other issues with the center console is the black area below the gauges which is glued in from the factory, and the piece that holds the gauges in, is melted into the console. and i removed these to get the job done right, and of course remove the cubby door which is a treat to put back together.

Made that harder than it had to be. Easiest/fastest way would be to block it out with 180.

You actually had the cubby door removed and molded over? That's original... haven't seen that done. Looks good. Gives it a clean look.
