fiberglass vs. polyurethane vs. carbon fiber
Yes, Most carbon fiber products that they make for our car is really like fiberglass, then the top coat is carbon fiber I believe, so it looks carbon fiber, but has the strength of fiberglass.. I think that is right...
this is partly true. if the kit does not fit it will probably not fit at all, but not all the time. fiberglass can be trimmed if the fit is close, so can poly. but if carbon fiber is off there is nothing you can do about that. so the material can affect the fitment, especially when it comes to carbon fiber.
Much thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread. All of my questions have been answered thanks to you guys. I greatly appreciate all of your help. Jadaniya and Z04, I greatly appreciate you guys giving some in-depth responses. You guys helped out a lot.
Both of my bumpers have been in fiberglass and i'm more than likely lower than everyone that has posted. I have had not one problem of cracking or spiderwebbing from normal DD. Theres is absolutely NOTHING wrong with getting fiberglass so long as you dont treat your car as if you're running the stock bumper. If you're gonna be bombing driveways/speedbumps/bump stops/etc then def. dont get fiberglass. but as lon as you're carefull you will have no problems.
Poly does withstand the small things but it gets wavy over time Every poly product i've ever seen has ended up being wavy.
As for CF, why anyone would want a CF body kit is beyond me, prob one of the ugliest things i've ever seen!!!
