so my wife put her military ID in the crack on the top of the door and the dash and the car ate the ID now i need to tear into it and get the ID back.. before i go pulling peices off wondering if anyone can tell me how to get that door off or to the area where the ID would have fell into.. i searched but its a pressing matter and cant seem to come up with anything... OH and my car is an 2006.

To get at the cubby door you need to access it from behind. To do that you just need to take the bezel out as if you are removing the radio. There are two screws at the bottom corners of the cubby under the plastic tabs. Then lift up the housing around the shifter boot. That will expose two screws on the sides under the radio. There are also four screws under the white box. Now start to pull the bezel towards you by pulling behind the triple gauges. Just do that enough to separate it. There is a small white harness connecting the gauges. Unplug that and the bezel should come out and expose the area where the ID should be.
