Req: Debadging (DIY)
looking for the best/safest way (DIY) to debadge the whole car (i'm not gonna do that), and the best way to remove the remaining adhesive of the emblems.
i want to debadge both front/back center Nissan burger and hatch 350z (actually someone already stole the Z from the 350
)..
thnx

the rear hamburger will leave two dimples on the hatch. I'm having my car painted currently and i asked the shop to fill in the holes.
For the adhesive, use some automotive goo gone.

he stated the brand above , its goo gone , remember to wax after using it.
the front burger has no holes, only the rear one on the hatch does.

ok,... in my country, we don't have such a product... that's why i'm asking for an automotive "goo gone alike" alternatives.
we have MOTHERS, Megs, Turtle Wax, Zaino, Zymol, and some 3M products.
so both rear and front has to be filled (somehow).
is it possible to get the stock front bumper filled tho (since it's not fiberglass.)?
thnx for the input

They would have to possibly bondo the hole up front, and then repaint the bumper.
I'm not sure of any alternative from goo gone. You could even find it at Wal Mart.
Here's what it looks like.

Goo Gone is actually not an automotive product. Check at a hardware / home improvement store. I bet you find it. Good luck!

so 06 350z has no holes in the front nissan emblem? so the best way should be heating it up then carefully pry it off?

Get some good quality fishing line and work it behind the emblems after you apply heat to it. I have heard people say waxed floss or dental tape work well too but I had no luck at all with them.

acetone might work pretty good for removing adhesive or alcohol.

you only need a heat gun or hair dryer to take off the glue and if you have acetone or alcohol after using the heat gun would be even easier...

Alcohol will work! Heat up emblems, they come off easy!

when you remove the front you'll have a depression where the emblem was. You'll have to fill it and paint it.

I wouldn't use Acetone... But Use some heat like everyone has been saying and just work at it (use a goo gone similar product). Its a PITA but thats how you do it.
Also About shaving the emblem.... Bondo or Body filler will not work so well. You should use a fiberglass type filler and even then its still risky. The area is to Deep for filler and over time you will see a ghost outline of the filler where the emblem used to be.
