Besides, its not like the OEM hood is garbage.. its very high quality. I wish I could say the same for many of the low-cost CF hoods being sold. Often times these hoods are difficult to close and in addition, unsafe to use w/o hood pins. Not writing this with the intentions to rain on your parade, just some food for thought.

old_s13---the hood is veeeery safe...sturdy..and it closes the same way the stock one did
this is purely for asthetic purposes..any weight loss is just a bonus
toykilla...i wasnt laughin at the time..but now that i look at it

How much does the stock hood weigh? ie... how much weight would you really be saving with the CF hood?
I'm not a fan of this look, but with enough weight savings, I could get a hood painted to match and still save weight.
I'm gonna have to be like Mike, though... if I do a hood replacement I want lighter weight AND a different look for my money.

if you want the weight savings this is not the hood for you
chebosto claims that fiberdreams makes a lighter hood
or you can go with top secret or hasemi
but they cost an arm and a leg
the stock hood is around 26lb

I prefer the way Ferrari and McLaren do things, they build their cars using CF and then add a very thin layer of paint on top of the CF. In the sun, you can see the slight weaves.. but overall, no one knows.
