The purpose of carbon fiber is strength/weight savings, not making parts of your car look like factory primer from any distance greater than 4 feet.

I think it can pass on the interior, so your radio looks really racy or whatever, but having a big black hood just isn't right, ESPECIALLY on a thirty thousand dollar car.

I think we shall just stick to our own preferences rather than criticising what people have done. If you think that does not look nice, you don't need to post it here, you can just laugh at those pictures in front of your computer as loud as possible, no one really cares. Keep those craps to yourself...

He posted these pics here just want to share his thoughts on the part he bought and this information can be able to help heaps of people here making correct choice. And he has expressed himself very clearly that it is for the cosmetic purposes ONLY, not for the track, don't really know why some people want to carry this on and on and on..... anyway... have been on this board for quite a while and rarely post such kind of reply...

BTW.... I think your hood looks really nice on your car!

cheers,

richie

I think the point was that People are trying to mimic what ferarri does VS a honda civic with coffee can exhaust (sorry if this is pointing out the obvious)

hhaa...well..the only other things im waiting on are my wheels and the wing...so not much power there..after that i gotta save up money and stop spending...

the only performance mod that makes sense to me in a procharger (so then i could contend with my friends 911 carrera)

but thats about 6 grand more than i have

so..for now..im just gonna have to stay stock under the hood

either way i love my car

my mom made me get at, said mt was too dangerous (=\), but I'm gonna get an estimate from the Nissan body shop, because I want to convert (it's still fun with the tiptronic part, but not the same at all)

dude, go with what your mom says, its obvious you are young like me, learn to drive first, don't make my mistake of going too fast having a bit of a slip. Tranny replacements are big bucks and it just doesn't pay. You would be better off getting a different car... Less problems and such...

I wouldn't be able to do that unless someone either wanted to trade or had the same color, I guess I can live with tiptronic =\, but I want to at least get an estimate

Converting a 350Z from AT to Manual will be expensive, mostly because these cars are not old enough to hit the scrapyards at bottom-barrel prices.

I converted my S13 from AT to MT, and recently converted the entire motor from NA to turbo. All this work is pretty similar, you just need to have access to a lot of parts from the scrapyards. WITHOUT THAT, it becomes a very time consuming (and expensive) modification.

I am sure converting a newer car like the Z is even more work than it is on the older cars, but the concept is still the same.

MT, Driveshaft, Clutch, Pressure Plate, TO bearing, Pilot Bushing, Clutch Master and Slave cylinders, clutch hard line, SS clutch line, lots of bolts, upper and lower shift boots, shift ****, and transmission crossmember. Dont forget the shim that spaces the transmission bell housing from the motor, that is also usually different.

Anyway, these are some of the parts I needed for my swap.. not sure if its the same on the Z.. but hey, you have to be a pioneer if you want the goods.
