OK HERE IT IS...CF HOOD FROM GENESIS (EBAY)--PICS, SPECS, EVERYTHING!!(NO56k)
hey guys....here is the utimate review of the carbon fiber hood from ebay
genesis performance is the retailer
price was 279 not including shipping
Review:
...hood is very good...not flawless..the only flaws were MINOR warping of the cf...but not bad..but you have to expect that...fitment is good....you dont need hood pins (it attaches exactly like the stock hood
you need 2 or 3 ppl to do it (prefferably 3)
a good socket wrench or wtvr you call it
and make sure you get the appropriate bolts (genesis got them for me)---they said they were 11mm...but i think they were mistaken...either way..they gave me the correct ones (4 bolts)
i used the rubber piece from the front of the stock hood --you should too
***Weight***---CF hood was roughly 3.5LB lighter--i did the best i could weighing it..
hood was 22.5
stock was around 26
NOW FOR THE PICS

so there it is..i hope i answered everyones questions or thoughts
in the pic you cant really see the CF underwings because there was bad lighting
but when i get the CF NISMO from evo-r everything will mesh well
i only wish i got gunmetal rims
i got brushed from iforged
but maybe the light color of the wheels will enhance the darkness of the CF
(ok that was me trying to make light of things

but since my car is clearly not a race car (19's, 5AT)
i would rather have a hood that is secure...it has avey stable underside and i know it wont fly off the car
plus i dont need hood pins

plus my scale sucks a left nut so i might be way off...maybe not......probobly a pound or 2
if the fiberimages hood is 10 lb less than stock thats good (for weght purposes)
but in that case why dont you just buy a crank pulley
if you want performance CF then you need to go DRY CARBON hood..which is way out of my price range

IMO---if your purpose of buying a CF hood is because its light
then it should be last on the list of things to buy
there are much better performance mods to spend money on
so anyone that buys a CF hood ...even if they dont admit it...its mostly for asthetic purposes

the weave isnt all that good..but i wonder if its like that on all hoods
it seams like a natural thing
