Default Booby trap interior of car, good or bad idea?

I know this is a controversial topic, I searched the threads and couldnt really find much on it. I was thinking of placing some razor blades under my dash, on my stereo and on my amp (a guy on this forum did it a long time ago, it wasnt commented on tho).

Of course if I was gonna get my car washed or serviced, I would have to remove it, I have no problem with that. I know its illegal to "booby trap" your car.

I have gotten my stereo stolen twice (2 diff cars). I have a viper alarm, loud as hell, but nothing seems to stop thieves. Frankly, I'm not too worried about the legal part, I doubt thieves will go to the police and confess to getting hurt while trying to steal my car.

I'm in the process of installing video cameras and an SD recorder. I know a lot of you guys can relate with theft, not fun and when it happens to you, all you want is revenge (as bad as it may sound).

you think a theif is just gonna stop stealing your **** if he gets cut in your car. yeah he may leave the radio but there's gonna be blood all over your car which will never come out and probably has aids in it. Plus if i were the theif i'd break all the windows in the car and smash the **** out of. Then I'd hope the person heard me and ran out of the house and probably shoot them... just saying. I wouldn't do it plus what happens when you forget to take the trape out and some mechanic slices his hand on it. no good can come from it

actually it might have the opposite effect you are looking for. instead of just stealing your stereo you might come out to the burned out remains of what use to be your car after they firebomb it. thieves get pretty pissed off if messed with.

Not to mention that the lawyers at the ACLU would love to sue on the thief's behalf. Even booby trapping your house will put you at legal risk.

This reminds me of that story a few years back when the thief was breaking into someone's house. Fell through a skylight or something and broke a bunch of bones and really fuked himself up. Ended up suing the family and winning a ton of money.

Goes to show you how retarded and ***-backwards our legal system is.

I would booby trap the area outside your car. that way you get them before they actually break into the car.

they'll just be dangling in the net attached to the tree branch.

Man just move to a different neighborhood if I was you. I had the same mindset in my undergrad, but now i'm like **** it. apartment must have a garage and I live in a decent neighborhood. My car does not have a lot of stuff done to it though. I don't want to deal with an annoying alarm so I don't give theifs a reason to steal my ****.

My grandfather said you could wire a coil to your door handle or something back in the day. He said it was pretty painful if you grabbed it but they used it as a shop prank. I'd research that. Most thieves will check your doors b4 breaking a window.

yea id suggest getting a place with a garage, or a car cover, but if someone already has you on lock, i guess the car cover wouldnt help...either way worth the try

I booby trap my car with decent insurance.

It's amazing- if they break in I suddenly get a check in the mail. Craziness, isn't it?

booby trap your car is just looking for problems. They cut their hands up find out it was booby trapped then like said burn that ****er to the ground. Quit installing aftermarket stuff or get a garage. I was in the same boat had 2 different trucks stolen in a very nice neighborhood in my city, i now never park my Z outside for more then a few hours and at night its in the garage no matter what.
