Lights look great ATX, doing the same thing to mine... I have seen it done all kinds of different ways, but spraying, wet sanding and clearing it is the best way to go, not to mention... It will give it the cleanest look. Only bad part about this is, it is irreversible if your looking for a different look afterwords. LED tails aren't cheap...

I've seen black vinyl before and it is not see through, so do you mean your lights are tinted with automotive tint film, or some type of translucent vinyl?

I have worked with Niteshades for a while now and to prevent from fading you will have to clear them. If you like the flat look that the Niteshades gives before clear coating, buy a Flat clearcoat because clear coat makes it glossy, but please do clear coat them or you will regret it. . You apply the Niteshades in layers, the more layers the darker. But please do remember one thing, Niteshades drys DARKER then it is when wet. Hopefully this helped you.

i have spray tinted rears, got it from a hobby shop, 6 dollars a can, works great! but when in the sun over time it flakes off, and if you do it yourself, it has to be in a good area to paint, not just your garage, i would go with vinlys personally, so you dont have to pay a shop to spray your lights and what not

i sprayed mine with the hoppy shop tint paint over the weekend....after two coats of tint, i sprayed with clear coat, waited till dry about 3 hours and clear coated again....they look fantastic...i let them sit for about a day and installed them on my car...they blend perfect with my brickyard color(not too dark), i'll post pics tomorrow!

Color looks great but you need to wet sand them down. I'm seeing some orange peel.

I'd start with 1500 then follow up with 3000. You'll need a rotary buffer to polish it out however.

how long have you had them pizza? i had some for about a year i got from ebay and they started to fade really bad and when taking them off the sun had literally melted them on and you get tiny little air bubbles in them after awhile, that's why i've spray tinted with clear coat...all i have to do now is get rid of the orange peel like atx says and polish and i should be good to go....we'll see!

about 6 months. so far, no bubbles. im hoping mine wont melt to the light. Just want something thats easy to remove incase i get pulled over. i was going to do the headlights when i found out overlays cause the headlight case to get stress cracks from the heat.

yeah, it looks like they may have done that to my tails a little, but you never know, that could have happend without them...the last vinyls i had just seemed like they got dull after awhile...at least with the spray, i can sand it whenever and just add another clear coat...good luck with the cops, though, i never got pulled over with my overlays
