Painting Headlight question

Default Painting Headlight question

i was reading somne threads on here and it said that 03-05 dont have a true projector so when you painting the headlight you are kinda of covering or lessing th elight that can be potrayed. is this the same with 06 Hid they have projectors but i eman will the light be less bright or not?

i painted my entire 03 lights flat black, and i posted on here, all i heard was that my daytime lights would be diminished, but i really dont care, as long as the HID lights remain the same....


rumors out there say that it might diminish a little, and that the bi-xenons in the 06+ lights wont lose light when painted...

06 are true projectors. light output isnt reflected on the housing. The pre 06 lights reflect some of the light off the housing which would be the parts to the left and the right of the lens. So painting those parts will diminish light output to some degree. im not sure if its enough to make it noticeable.
